College of Technology and Agriculture Engineering is established as a constituent educational institution of the prestigious Agriculture University, Jodhpur in the academic year of 2020-21 at Jodhpur.
About Agriculture Engineering
Agricultural engineering is the field of study and application of engineering science and design innovations that takes a strongly multidisciplinary approach to resolving agricultural problems. It is a key discipline for sustainable agriculture to deliver global food security. With the advancement of agriculture, Agricultural Engineering education has also been gradually developed and taken a definite shape through the inclusion of theoretical as well as practical courses in multidirectional fields. Agricultural engineering integrates engineering and agricultural science knowledge and skill to develop technology and process to raise the production and productivity of agriculture through efficient utilization of natural resources and conserving the same for future use. It dynamically addresses issues relevant to the social and technological development of the country.
B. Tech Agri Engg. Course
B. Tech. in Agriculture Engineering (Agri. Engg.) is a 4-year undergraduate program, which is fully residential. The 4-year period is divided into 8 semesters each of 6 months duration. In each semester, students have to face different sets of theoretical subjects as well as practical and lab sessions. The Agricultural Engineering program combines the concepts and techniques of agriculture, modern technology, and engineering practices. It can be said that the program is an amalgamation of more than one discipline viz. plant/agriculture sciences, environmental science, core engineering branches (civil, mechanical, electrical, electronics and computer), modern agricultural technology, etc.
Agricultural Engineering embraces the following five major disciplines:
